David Blazes is an infectious diseases physician who has been assigned to the USNS Comfort and the Navy research laboratory in Peru. He also directed the U.S. Department of Defense’s Global Emerging Infections Surveillance program and currently is a professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
