Denise Garcia, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University. She is a member of the International Panel for the Regulation of Autonomous Weapons since 2017. She also serves on the research board of the Toda Peace Institute (Tokyo), the Institute for Economics and Peace (Sydney), and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. She previously was a Nobel Peace Institute fellow in 2017.
