Gihan Kamel is an infrared beamline scientist at SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) in Jordan. She is on leave from the Faculty of Science, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt.
As the only female scientist at SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East), the author has a unique view of science collaboration in the Middle East.
