Former Director, Galveston National Laboratory

From 2010 to 2021, Jim Le Duc, PhD, directed Galveston National Laboratory, a maximum biocontainment facility where basic and applied research is done on the most dangerous pathogens known.  His professional career spanned over 5 decades during which he worked on the front lines of science diplomacy by establishing collaborative research projects on emerging diseases with partners from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.


James Le Duc, former director of the Galveston National Laboratory, emphasizes the importance of international training for biocontainment laboratory personnel when considering how to mitigate the risk of future pandemics.
