Michiharu Nakamura is the Counselor to the President of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). He is a former member of the UN 10-Member Group (2018-2020) supporting the Technology Facilitation Mechanism for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Previously, he served as the President of JST and the Executive Vice President of the Engineering Academy of Japan. He received a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Tokyo.
