Stefano Lami is a Science Counselor at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C. A particle physicist by training, he participated in mega-science projects at CERN and Fermilab, and has authored or co-authored more than 600 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals.


Major mega-science collaborative efforts, often international in scope, are becoming a common means to reduce costs, share risk, and augment scientific expertise.
