Fahmida N. Chowdhury is a program director in the Office of International Science and Engineering at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Prior to joining NSF she was a professor of electrical and computer engineering in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Over her long academic and government career, the author has noticed that the term science and engineering diplomacy is little known, used, discussed, or understood in the engineering community.
